Nancy Jean Steinmann went to heaven on March 18, 2022 to be with her loving husband Charles and their adored son Mark. She was greeted there by her parents Anson and Margaret Austin. She passed away with her loving daughter by her side at the age of 87.
She was born in Mt. Holly and was a longtime Edgewater Park resident. Nancy and Charles attended and were married at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Nancy’s early work life included working for US Pipe and as a bank teller for Beverly National Bank.
She devoted many years to her family before returning to work outside the home as a secretary for the McGowan School of the Edgewater Park School System. She loved the job and made many lasting friendships at the school. Nancy LOVED to spend time at the shore. Nancy and Charles were fortunate enough to be able to buy a shore house in 1966 in Surf City, LBI. Their family and friends were able to create many lasting memories down the shore. In 2001, they were able to move full time to their home and enjoy the Shore Life. Nancy was an avid reader and floral gardener. She was honored to win an award in Surf City for her floral beds. Nancy leaves to cherish her memory her daughter and son in law: Janet and Scott Kapalka; her four grandsons: Scott (Chip) Kapalka, Eric (Gabby) Kapalka, David (Alicia) Steinmann, Jeffrey (Deana) Steinmann; great-grandchildren: Kensley and Bryden Steinmann; daughter in law: Cathy Steinmann; a sister: Marjorie (Robin) Austin. A viewing will be held at Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union Street, Burlington on Wednesday from 10-11am. A funeral service will begin at 11am with mausoleum entombment to follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
