Paul Polizzi Obituary

Paul Polizzi of Burlington Township passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Samaritan Hospice in Voorhees, NJ. He was 93. Paul was born to Sicilian, immigrant parents Rose and Philip Polizzi in Philadelphia, PA. He was one of 11 children. Paul was predeceased by his loving wife Jean (Curiale), his parents, and his siblings, Samuel Polizzi, Mary Rossi, Jimmy Polizzi, Pauline Polizzi, Jennie Hume, Philip Polizzi, Anthony Polizzi, infant Jerome Polizzi, and Jerry Polizzi. Paul leaves four children to cherish his memory, Lorraine Waxmonsky (Paul), Paul Polizzi, Jr., Jean Tuthill (Dave), and
Gary Polizzi (Kelley). He is also survived by his sister, Rose Sickler of DeLand, Florida. He was a loving Pop-Pop to 9 – Gary Martin (Lauren), Christopher Martin, Paula Ryder (Robert), Michael Martin, Stacy George, Bobby George (Brittany), Paul George (Alyssa), Gabriella Chester (Michael), and Antonio Polizzi. Paul was also Great Grandpa to 9 – JaZelle Martin, Collin Martin, Logan Ryder, Aeryana Collins, Nathan Hand, Carter George, Millie George, Brianna George, and Briley George. Paul was a loving father and that love extended through his entire family. He was always available to support and advise and to lend a helping hand. He grew up during the depression and therefore learned to do things himself. He could fix anything, build anything, and knew how to save money doing it. As a young boy he worked along with his siblings on Kings Farm in Morrisville, PA. His passion for farming continued in his own backyard each summer with a large garden including fig trees. He completed carpentry school; but, his career changed in order to better support his growing family to a truck driver for Penn Fruit Grocery Stores. He won many trophies and gifts during their annual truck rodeos for safety and skill in driving tractor trailers. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union and served as Treasurer for his Local. He enjoyed his membership in the Amici Italian Club and was an avid Bocce player. He loved meeting with his dear friends daily for coffee and good conversation. He loved history and shopping for antiques. He will be fondly remembered for his wisdom, his love and guidance.
