Ralph J. Matthews

Ralph J. Matthews of Edgewater Park passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday at the age of 83. Ralph was the son of Ralph H. and Eleanor V Ivans Matthews and was born in Riverside. He worked at Wall Rope Works Inc, of Beverly, FM North and Associates Mechanical Contractors, then as an Office Manager for a general contractor before his retirement from Manheim Auto Auction in Bordentown. 

Ralph was Honorably Discharged as Staff Sergeant, Company “C”, 1st Battalion “M”, 114th Infantry of the US Army National Guard. He was a member of the Broad Street Methodist Church, 200 Club of Burlington County and the JC’s of Burlington City.

Ralph was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Elanor, James (Dori), Joan Scully, Betty Taylor, Melvin “Paul” (Josephine “Joey”) and great grandchild Sienna Lyons.

Together with his wife Marie (divorced) He is survived by his children: Ralph Matthews (Renee Needles), David Mathews, Steven Matthews (Wendy); grandchildren: Ralph; Danielle Matthews (fiancé Greg Mower), Stephanie Matthews, Timothy Matthews (Bella): David Matthews; Megan (Samuel) Lyons; great grandchild: Mackenzie Lyons: Jennifer (Michael) McDonald, great grandchildren: Skylar and Raegan McDonald, Steven; Alexa Matthews, Kacey Matthews and numerous nieces and nephews.  

Per Ralph’s request, there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers: Please donate in Ralph’s name to Samaritan Hospice or Meals-On-Wheels of Burlington County who provided beneficial services in his time of need.
