Raymond B. Ferranto, Sr., of Burlington Township, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at the age of 78. Ray was a gentle and kind man who would help anyone in need. Ray was born in Hammonton and was a longtime Burlington Township guy, who was part of the 1st Graduating Class of Burlington Township High School, Class of 1966. He worked as a machinist for United Aero until they disolved. He went on to gratuate from Penn-Co Tech, worked at Siemens Energy in Trenton, NJ and then worked at DC Fabricators in Florence, NJ until his retirement.
Ray was privileged to be mentored by Ernie Doelle, he served as an assistant coach for the Burlington Township United Areo Kickers youth soccer team. Their team won the 1968 SJ Championship and went on to play some of the best soccer teams in Bermuda. He also served as a volunteer coach in Florence Township Little League Baseball.
Ray was a devoted family man who cherished his time with family. He spent countless hours working on his lawn, but in his spare time he enjoyed painting, both water colors and oils. He also like to take time to fish and head out to the bay with Ray, Jr. and Mike. Ray enjoyed baseball and was an avid Yankee’s fan.
Raymond was predeceased in death by his parents Raymond and Violet Siegel Ferranto, niece Stacey Ronca, nephew Mark Boyd and sisters in law: Barbara Ives and Judy Ferranto.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 58 and ½ years, Jacquelynn Brown Ferranto and cherished by his children Raymond Ferranto Jr. (Lori), Renae Maffetone and Danielle Hunt (William), his grandchildren Jessica Lee (Charles), Zachary Markwood (Kaitlin), Victoria Haines (Kevin Ortiz), Michaela Maffetone (Rob Shull), Mason Markwood (Kaylee Snyder), Noah Maffetone, Jarret Ferranto and Kylee Ferranto, his great grandchildren Lana and Avani Lee, Decklin and Taryn Haines, Noah Ortiz, Tatum, Navy and Parker Markwood, Silas and Sadie Markwood, Maddox, Maverick, Odessa and Jack Shull. His siblings Steven L. Ferranto, Donna L.
Jeffers, John D. Ferranto (Julie). As well as his sister in law Brenda B. Boyd, brother in law Doyle Ives, Aunt Thelma Ferronto, Aunt Edith Johnson, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A viewing for Raymond will be held at Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union Street, Burlington on Thursday from 9:30-11am. A funeral service will begin at 11am with burial to follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. To Honor Ray and his love for the Yankee’s, please feel free to wear Yankee’s attire.
