Richard E. “Dick” McAdams passed away Saturday March 29, 2025 at Rydal Park Senior Living, Jenkintown, PA at the age of 89. Born in Burlington, Dick was a longtime Burlington City resident before moving to Jenkintown. As a youngster and young man, Richard enjoyed playing basketball and baseball with h is friends whenever they had a chance. During summer breaks from school they would play all day. He was a US Army Veteran who served honorably during the Korean War. He received basic training at Ft. Dix, NJ and spent the remaining three years of his service time with the Signal Corps. Richard learned about contracts while working for Dubrow in Burlington. When they relocated to Alabama, he joined a new company, Environmental Tectonics Corporation in Southampton, PA where he was a contracts administrator for almost 40 years. Dick was a quiet man who loved to read to learn about new things and history, especially World War II. His greatest joy was spending time at the beach and sitting on the porch of his shore house with his family on Long Beach Island, NJ. He loved his family more than anything. Richard was predeceased by his parents; Francis and Alice (nee Cunningham) McAdams, his stepdaughter; Natalie Egleston, his grandson Robert "Bobby" Cameron, Jr. and his siblings: Marie “Ree” (Marty) Queenan, Francis “Brud” (Laura) McAdams, Alice “Cis” (Bill) Gardner, James “Jim” (Lucienne) McAdams, Theresa (Tom) Green, Joseph “Joe” (Alyce) McAdams and Elizabeth “Betsy” (Bill) Ehresmann. He is survived by his wife Gwendolyn “Gwen” Whitnell Egleston McAdams, children; Monica (Michael) Caffrey, Richard (Yuko) McAdams, Jr., June Cameron, Michael McAdams, Laureen “Reen” (Tom) Letizio, stepchildren; Julie (Bill) Graham, Brian Egleston (Paul Roundtree) as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews other family members and friends. A viewing for Richard will be held Friday, April 4th from 9-10:30am at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington, NJ 08016. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Friday in St. Paul R.C. Church, 223 E. Union St. Burlington, NJ 08016. Interment with military honors will be held 11am Saturday April 5th in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002. A memorial service will also be held Saturday April 5th from 1-3pm at Rydal Park, 1515 The Fairway, Rydal, PA in the Sun and Social Room. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the Brightfocus Foundation, Macular Degeneration Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871-1952 would be appreciated by his family.
