Richard "Dennis" Shallcross Obituary
Richard D. Shallcross, “Dennis” of Burlington Township passed away Monday, May 4, 2026 at his residence at the age of 81. Born in Philadelphia, PA Dennis was a longtime resident of Burlington Township. He was a graduate of Frankford High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Temple University in Mechanical Engineering. He also served his country honorably in the US Air Force. He worked for Catholic Charities in both Burlington and Westampton as a mechanical engineer and maintenance supervisor until his retirement. He was a member of American Legion Post 79 in Burlington. Dennis earned the rank of Eagle Scout and was a camp counselor at Camp William Penn in Pennsylvania. He was also a fan of both the Phillies and the Eagles. In his spare time Dennis enjoyed playing golf, fishing, building things and working with his hands. He also loved going to the shore and spending time in the sun, especially in Cape May and Long Beach Island. Dennis will most be remembered for his faith and love of family. He was an ordained minister and truly a man of God. He would do anything he could for people, often putting others before himself. People frequently sought him out for spiritual guidance and assistance. During the time he lived in Florida, Dennis worked as a phone counselor for the Trinity Broadcasting Network, often helping people with their problems, including convincing one caller to not commit suicide. His love of God and faith ran alongside his love for his family. He most enjoyed spending time with his wife and family whether at the shore or at home with backyard family gatherings. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Charles B. and Ruth (nee Davies) Shallcross, his brother Dave Shallcross and daughter Laurie Richards. He is survived by his beloved wife Pam (nee Post) Shallcross, his son and daughter in law Todd and Melanie Shallcross, daughter Lynda Shallcross and her companion Jimmy Gallagher, daughter and son in law Julie and Bradley Leszczynski, son and daughter in law Rich and Samantha Shallcross, grandchildren; Jaxon and London Leszczynski as well as brothers and sisters in law; Larry and Karen Shallcross and Steven and Bonnie Shallcross.
