Robert Hallowell Obituary

Robert M. “Rob” Hallowell, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at the age of 70. Rob worked as a computer programmer and analyst for 14 years at Delaware Valley Financial Services (DVFS)/Allianz, and lastly for BDP Logistics retiring in 2015. Rob had many passions and hobbies which included: model trains and tanks, cooking, music, playing guitar, and tending to his gardens of flowers, vegetables, and herbs. Rob played guitar in several rock bands that performed in the Philadelphia area, in New Jersey, and along the Jersey Shore in the late ’60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s; most cherished were The Impossibles, Widow’s Kiss, and Tony N’ The T-Birds. He was a season ticket holder at Walnut Street Theatre, a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, a former Den Leader and Awards Chairman for Pack 78 Cub Scouts, an Adult Leader for Troop 137 of the Boy Scouts of America, and participated as a proud father with his children in the Indian Guides and Indian Princesses. Rob was a Phillies and Eagles fan, and adored all of the cats he had throughout his life; especially cherished were Shadow, Magic, Little Foot, and Bogey. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his ability to repair almost anything, the countless stories shared at the dinner table with his family over laughs, drinks, and good food, and his loving, warm hugs. 

Son of the late Benjamin and Idella Koch Hallowell, he leaves to cherish his memory: his fiancee’ Gail Haney and his children: Robert E. Hallowell, Benjamin C. (Katherine L.) Hallowell, Amanda J. (Keith A.) McDonnell; his granddaughter Alexandra; sister Mary (Dan) Hubley and niece Elizabeth. A private funeral service will be held at Old St. Mary’s Church, located at the corners of West Broad and Wood Streets, Burlington, NJ 08016.
