Robert P. "Speedy" Lucas

Robert Patrick Lucas lovingly known as Speedy passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side on Wednesday December 11, 2024.  Born and raised in the Village of Rancocas, Speedy spent the majority of his life in Burlington City and was an avid fan of the local sports teams. He was a loyal Phillies and Eagles fan. He traveled to the Phillies spring training for 40+ years with numerous friends and family, including his dear friend Nancy. His daughters greatest memories were spent with their dad in Seaside Heights, hanging out at the beach and spending a lot of time on the boardwalk, They were always loaded down with prizes and stuffed animals after those Seaside days!  

Speedy loved his two careers as well, starting with Tony Conda’s city office outfitters and 20 years with the Burlington Co DOC. He also enjoyed bartending at the White Eagle and Placks (The Big House) for many years.

He is predeceased by his parents Esther and Maurice Lucas, wife Marcia Ayrer Lucas, brothers and sisters: Kay Dever (Bobby),  Maurice “Sonny”  Lucas (Betty), Virginia “Gin” Lucas, Edward Russell Lucas, Elizabeth “Sissy” Poehls (Tex) Gloria Rapagna (Fred) , James Lucas (Nancy), Marie Fry (Harry), John Lucas (Beverly), Richard “Dick” Lucas (Patsy), Fred Lucas, and longtime friends, Charlene Morris and Pat Keyes.

Survived by daughters Lisa and Melanie Lucas, siblings: Janet Curran(Harry),  Barbara Farace (Dave), William “Woody” Lucas.  Grandchildren: Danielle Keil (Dave), Christine Landell (Christine) Michael Morton (Arielle) Edward Morton, Kathy McKone (Scott) Nicodemo Camarda (Alicia) Great grandchildren: Karen, Tyler, Josh, Dominick , Tessa, Lucas and James

All are invited to come share in the celebration of Speedy’s life on Sunday, December 15th, 2024 from 11am to 2pm at Page Funeral Home (302 E. Union Street Burlington, NJ 08016).
