Robert A. "Bob" Wooden

Robert A. Wooden (Bob), a lifelong resident of Burlington, passed away peacefully, at his home in Burlington Township on October 4,2023 after a year-long battle with Mesothelioma. He was surrounded by family and his dog, Lily. Bob was predeceased by his first wife, Ruperta Braun Wooden and his 3 brothers, Edward, Carl (Skip) and Kenneth. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Stella Wooden, his children, Shawn Wooden, Kathleen Parnell (Dan), and Patrick Wooden (Joyce); stepchildren Michael Webb, Lisa Boccardo; grandchildren, Alan Wooden (Jazlyne), Adam Wooden, Gabrielle Medina (Sabby), Tyler Wooden, Carley Warnock (Randy); step grandson John Corley and 9 great-grandchildren. Born in April,1930, Bob was a graduate of Burlington High School, class of 1948. After graduation, Bob enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served as a Boatswain’s Mate on the Fletcher-Class Destroyer USS Stoddard (DD 566) from 1950-54. After his service for our country, Bob was employed by Rohm & Haas until his retirement in 1988. Bob enjoyed fishing, woodworking, shooting pool and was a life-long Philadelphia sports fan. He was a die-hard Phillies fan since 1947 and followed his beloved Phils til the end. In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling; from his annual ship’s reunion at various American ports to cruises, bus trips and tours all over the world. A viewing will be held at Page Funeral Home 302 East Union St., Burlington, Wednesday, October 11,2023 from 10AM to 12:00PM with a prayer service to follow. Interment will be at 2PM at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
