Rose Frances Adams nee Esposito passed away peacefully in her Beverly home of 68 years, just blocks away from where she was born to Antonio & Grace Esposito. She now joins them, her sisters Jeanette & Bette and Elmer in Heaven.
In Burlington H.S. she started dating that ornery Elmer Adams even though the school counselors tried to dissuade her from seeing him; A subject brought up by him at every H.S. reunion, which both were on organizing committees.
They had 62 fun packed years together raising 7 kids:
Elmer (Roxane), Michael (Linda), Susan, Alan (Janet), Lisa (Shawn), Renee (John), and Billy.
Although Rose & Elmer were both involved in the American Legion, Elks, & Pop Warner Football together, Rose was a Brownie & Girl Scout Leader, PTA member, Room Mother, one of the first Beverly School Lunch Ladies, and was always working the Voting Poll as her father impressed upon his 3 girls that voting a Choice was a privilege he never had in his native Italy. She was very proud to work the elections.
There were jobs in the Water Co., Beverly School, Catering and factory work all while raising the kids & keeping a clean house! She also kept a clean swept tent & later a camper as camping was a fun & favorite vacation enjoyed by the whole family.
Once the kids got older, Rose spent some time at the Casinos & overall we believe she came out ahead $ wise! And let’s not forget BINGO! Rose loved the game (we had fun playing at home too ). Covid didn’t get her, but she was really upset it meant no Bingo and not seeing her Bingo Family which she missed ‘til her last days.
Gambling aside, once the 19 Grandkids came, she was always there as needed or just offering to watch them. Nan was known to all the grandkids, and later to the 25 Great Grandkids as a Big Hug and something good to eat. Oh yeah, Rose was an Awesome Cook & Baker! We will especially miss her escarole soup & chocolate filled pizzelles.
In her later years, Rose was known for her beautiful hair which was still Silver not white. It was as fluffy as the clouds she’s now in!
She aways had a compliment, or something nice to say when she saw you, along with a Big Smile, which is how we’ll all remember her even though we’ll miss her every day.
A Visitation will be held at Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington, NJ 08016 on Monday July 22nd from 6pm-8pm.
A Memorial Mass for Rose & Elmer will be held at Jesus, the Good Shepherd Church 805 Warren St., Beverly, NJ 08010 on Thursday August 8th at 10:30 am.
