Rose Zampino, beloved mother and grandmother to many, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Rosalie Racano and Jacomo Cacioppo and sister of Paul (Marie) Cacioppo. She leaves behind her children Steven (Deborah) Zampino, Michele (Jay) Dudley-Brown, and David (Megan) Zampino, grandchildren Gina Zampino, Steven Zampino, Allyson (Mario) Pocino, Samantha (Nicholas) Concepcion, Andrew Brown, Matthew Brown, Willow Zampino, Autumn Zampino, and Noah Zampino, and great-grandchild Vincent Concepcion. She was a mother figure to many, and fostered Duane Reeves and Summer Massey for several years.
Rose was born in New York City on September 15th, 1940. Growing up in Manhattan, she graduated from Our Lady of Pompeii High School, and proceeded to move to New Jersey in her twenties. She made Burlington Township her home for the past 58 years. She was also an active member of LifeGate Assembly of God church, serving the community through their local food pantry for 13 years.
For Rose, God was number one in her life, and she dedicated her life to serving Him and others. She could usually be found reading her Bible or other Christian books. She especially loved to read on her back porch and enjoy the outdoors, listening to the birds and smelling the flowers. Rose especially loved Daisies and Cherry Blossom trees. Whether at church or home, she loved listening, singing along, and even dancing to worship music; some of her favorite hymns include In the Garden, I’ll Fly Away, and Victory in Jesus.
As a mother, grandmother and even great-grandmother, Rose’s signature quality was listening. She always knew how to give an attentive ear to whomever she was speaking to, and offered thoughtful advice based on her experience or what she’s been reading in the Bible. Rose loved her family, and would always join them at the kitchen table for a game of cards or to share a meal as her health allowed. Her other hobbies and interests included watching the Hallmark Channel or the Phillies game, playing Bingo on Monday nights, supporting her church softball team from the bleachers, and spending time with her grandchildren from her living room chair. Nora Roberts and Frank Sanatra were two of Rose’s favorite authors and singers respectively. Some of her favorite sayings were “A present is never a present without a bow” and “Always look your best, because you never know when you’ll meet Prince Charming”.
She will be sincerely missed by all who knew and loved her, and so her family invites her friends and the community as a whole to celebrate the life of Rose Zampino on Tuesday June 25th. A viewing will be held at LifeGate Assembly of God, 1607 Jacksonville Rd, Burlington, NJ 08016 from 4pm-6pm. A funeral service will begin promptly after at 6:00pm, with a Fellowship Dinner and Celebration of Life following in the church fellowship hall. For the event, please wear fun colors, as Rose loved dressing up in fun colors and patterns. It’s how she would have wanted us to honor her and celebrate her legacy.
As fitting memorial to her dedication to the community and in lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the local food pantry where Rose volunteered at https://laucher.nucleus.chruch/flow/4af1a81e1cc9ef6e460f.
Messages of sympathy may be sent to her family from www.pagefuneralhome.com.
