Ruth Guse (Lovesey) of Springfield Township, passed away in Samaritan Hospice at Virtua Hospital, Mt. Holly on Sunday at the age of 94. She was born in Riverside and was proud growing up that she was her father’s “son”, as Ruth worked the fields with her father on the family farm. Even after she got a job, got married and started her family, she was able to find time to help him out on the farm until he passed away and the farm was sold. While her family was growing up, she worked at J. Chein Toys and also as a nurse’s aide PT at area nursing homes and also Zurbrugg Memorial Hospital. After her youngest (Dean) started school, she went back to school herself to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and worked full time at Zurbrugg until it closed and she retired. Her retirement life focused on her family, gardening, watching her grandkids, volunteer work and some private duty care. After her beloved husband Edward passed away in 1998 her daughter, granddaughter and great-grandson moved in from Texas to live with her. Her daughter lived with her from that time and took care of her in her later years until she passed away peacefully under the care of Samaritan Hospice. Ruth was a charter member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Ruth was the daughter of the late Alfred (Al) and Katherine (Katie) Lovesey and was also predeceased by her husband Edward (Bud) Guse, a daughter Virginia Pereda and her husband James, a son Dean Guse, a sister Mare Meder and a brother Paul (Dick) Ohl. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Terry Guse Tholen, Granddaughter Katherine (Nee: Tholen) and her husband Bryan Ford, great-grandson Caleb Tholen, granddaughter Aimee (Nee: Pereda) Kuc, great-granddaughter Alison Kuc, great-grandson Jonathan Kuc and nieces and nephews.
