Sally S (Stone) Abdill

Sally S. Abdill (nee Stone) of Cinnaminson and formerly of Burlington passed away Monday July 31, 2023, at Cambridge Enhanced Senior Living Moorestown at the age of 94. Born in Philadelphia to Esther (nee Rager) and Henry T. Stone Jr., she was a longtime Burlington resident before moving to Cinnaminson. After raising her family, Sally was employed as a bookkeeper for Roma Deli in Burlington Twp. She was a member of the Women’s Club of Burlington and the Presbyterian Church of Burlington. Sally loved to travel, both in the United States and abroad. She loved Italy and often said that Venice was her favorite place on earth. Later in her life she loved to cruise. In her spare time, she loved to sew, both clothing and later quilting, teaching her daughters and granddaughters the art. She also enjoyed knitting and needlework, going on quilt retreats, watching old movies, and reading. Sally loved to spend time with her family, and going out to eat was definitely one of her favorite things. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Richard J. Abdill, her daughter Anne Holloway, and her sons in law Philip J. Mesmer and Edward L. Holloway. Sally is survived by children Kathy Mesmer, Richard J. Abdill, Jr. (Nancy), and Peter H. Abdill (Lisa); her grandchildren, Christopher Holloway (Cristin), Sally Marshall, Jennifer Somogy, Matthew Holloway, Richard J. Abdill, III (Lauren), Amanda Blutner (Zach), Katie Abdill, Emily Abdill, Claire Chando (Spencer) , Joshua Abdill and Kimberly Logan; as well as 11 great-grandchildren. A viewing for Sally will be held Thursday August 3rd from 10–11 am at the Presbyterian Church of Burlington, 300 Mill Rd., Burlington. Funeral services will begin at 11 am. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rt. 130 and Beverly Rd., Burlington. Arrangements are under the direction of the Page Funeral Home, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Burlington.
