Santo A. “Babe” Cugliotta peacefully passed away Tuesday November 28, 2023 at the age of 88, surrounded by family and friends. He was born and raised in Palmyra, NJ. He was a graduate of Palmyra High School, Class of 1952 and he was a graduate of Rutgers University School of Public Works. In 1960 he and his wife Dorothy moved to Burlington City, where they were longtime residents and very involved in the community. He was the founder and owner of Cugliotta Brothers Paving Co. in Burlington. After selling Cugliotta Bros., he ended his career by retiring from the NJ State Board of Medical Examiners. Babe loved spending summers at their beach house on LBI, where he enjoyed making ice cream cones for his grandchildren while they hung out on the deck together. During his retirement years he enjoyed spending his winters at their house in Stuart, Florida. He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Anna Cugliotta and his brother, Jacob Cugliotta. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Dorothy “Dottie” (nee Hoffman) Cugliotta, his daughter Cynthia Tylenda, his son and daughter in law: Santo and Kathleen Cugliotta, his grandchildren; Kathryn (Colin) Brearley, Thomas (Marie) Cugliotta, Kristine (fiancé Ryan Monaghan) Cugliotta, Cydney and Matthew Tylenda, and his great granddaughter Genevieve Brearley. He is also survived by his sister Anna Griffith and nephew Gregory Griffith. A viewing for Babe will be held Monday December 4th from 9-10:30am in St. Paul R.C. Church, 223 E. Union St., Burlington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am. Entombment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Mausoleum, Rt. 130 and Beverly Rd., Burlington.
