Thomas Patrick Treptow Sr.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of an extraordinary individual, Tom Treptow, who departed from this world on October 5, 2024, at his home in Burlington, NJ, after 88 amazing years. Throughout his life, Tom touched the hearts and souls of countless people. He possessed a remarkable spirit, a quick-witted sense of humor and an unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others. His departure leaves a void that will be felt by many.
Tom is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara; his children Cathy Wyatt, Patrick and Joanne, Liz and Stan Kulpa, and Chris and Dee. His son Michael, who has been his guardian angel, passed in 2007. He considered himself so blessed with his 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren with another one on the way; his family in laws, Katie Vichko, Evie and Bob Johnson; and his many wonderful friends who will forever cherish his memory. He enjoyed a successful career with NJ Bell and ATT retiring after 50 years of service and consultation.
Tom was a devoted family man, and his passion was evident in every aspect of his life. As his children grew, he was very active in McCorristin School including the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed fishing trips with his son’s and grandchildren, spent many summers camping at Assateague Island and winters at Fort Wilderness Campground in Disney. He leaves behind a legacy of strong values and treasured memories that will forever be cherished by everyone he met.
Tom had a zest for life that was contagious. He approached every day with enthusiasm, embracing new challenges, and finding joy in the simplest of things. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel seen, heard, and valued, always extending a helping hand, empathetic ear, or much needed humor.
As we bid farewell to this amazing man, let us remember him not with sorrow but with gratitude for the tremendous gifts he brought into our lives. His legacy will continue to inspire us to live with kindness, passion, and a commitment to making the world a better place.
Cremation will be held privately, and a celebration of Tom’s remarkable life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made in Tom’s memory to the Dementia Society of America.
