William P. Butterfield, born January 25, 1961, passed peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on September 2nd 2022. Predeceased by his father William E, survived by his mother Marianna (Butterfield) Nolan and her husband John. Also survived by his sister Linda and her husband John, his brother Michael and his wife Diana, niece Holly Butterfield and her wife Agnes, Aunt Linda and her husband Bob , Aunt Rita and her partner Gene. There are many first, second, and third cousins. Also his adored and loving partner Sherry, who became his attentive care giver for the last months of his life. Bill worked for Metro Aviation as a MedeVac helicopter pilot. Before Metro he flew the news for channel 3 and 29 and flew for University/MidAltlantic MedEvac. Bill was an avid boater, jet skier, snow skier, a fair weather Harley rider, also a golfer for a time but possibly too sedate a hobby ? You could find him in his garage when not participating in his extra curricular activities. He was always repairing a boat engine, fixing or remodeling a car, or repairing something for a friend. Bill had a multitude of friends that shared in all of his fun activities. He respected and enjoyed working with all the helicopter crews. Bill lived life to its' fullest, but it was taken from him too soon. He had a lot of plans for the future that will never be fulfilled. In lieu of flowers a donation to the SPCA, your local Cancer fund, and a mass at St. Paul's church in Burlington. Funeral will be at St. Paul's Church, E. Union St, and St. Mary's St. Burlington, on Friday, 9th September. The viewing is 9-10:20 am. Mass at 10:30, interment at Odd Fellows Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Carlucci's restaurant.
