William F. "Bill" Taubel

William F. “Bill” Taubel of Edgewater Park, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 28th, at the age of 77. Bill was a graduate of Burlington City High School and then went to serve for his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Bill was wounded in combat during his service time and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.  After his discharge from the Army, he began his working career as a machinist at Griffin Pipe before retiring after 30 years. He and Kate enjoyed spending time at their shore house, creating lasting memories with their children and grandchildren. Bill was a life member of the VFW, Past Commander of VFW Post 1817, and also a member of the SJ Vietnam Veterans Association. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and supporting the Edgewater Park Athletic Association. Bill loved the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 48 years Kate Hullings Taubel, their children Mike (Robin), Brian (Lizzie), Kevin (Emelia), Jen (Doug), their grandchildren Brett, Brad, Aubrey, Emily, Tyler, Nolen, Simon, Abraham, Theo, and Penny, great-grandchildren Phoebe, KayLynn, Isla, and Kaysen, a sister Helen Cheadle, and many close family and friends. The family invites friends to his Life Celebration on Friday, April 10th, from 9-11am. Words of reflection and U.S. Army Honor’s will be rendered at 10:30 am. The family asks that you dress casual, as Bill didn’t want people to get dressed up. If you have anything patriotic or Philadelphia sports team gear, wear it.
