Bernard Davis, affectionately known as Bernie or Boom by family and friends, was born on January 20th, 1960 in Trenton, NJ to Rosa Lee Williams and the late James Schruby. Bernard departed his earthly life on Sunday May 21, 2023. Bernard spent his childhood in Trenton, NJ where he attended Trenton public schools, graduating Trenton Central High School in 1979. Soon after graduating, he met the love of his life Diane Foskey and moved to Burlington NJ where they raised their 2 sons Jakil and Raheem. Bernard had many jobs during his life from landscaping at Militan Nursey, Maintenance at Quaker Bridge Mall, and Waste Management until he became disabled in 2005, and he still worked odd jobs to continue to support his family. One of his main odd jobs was in the pallet recycling industry.
To know Bernard was to love Bernard. He was the life of the party in any atmosphere. Bernie enjoyed sitting in the White House in his backyard with his boys, playing dominoes and of course running his mouth. During his presence, he was guaranteed to make you laugh. Bernard led his spiritual guidance his own way. He believed in the higher power and knew GOD. Despite his illness, he remained attentive to his family’s needs, doing all that he could to ensure their prosperity. The highlight of his days was spending time with his Grandchildren. He was loved tremendously and will be greatly missed.
Bernard was preceded in death by his father, James Schruby, Uncle Lentee (Gloria Jean) Davis, and close friends, Brian Patterson. He leaves to morn his wife, Diane, Two sons Jakil (Tiffany) Davis, Raheem (Genise) Davis, Mother Rosa Lee Williams, Brother, McNeal Williams, two uncles, Joseph (Cozzie) Lockwood, Elisha (Charlotte) Davis, three aunts, Beatrice (Isaiah) Robinson, Henrietta (Belvin) Collins, Joyce Anne (Lafeyette) Collins, two grandchildren, Julius Davis and Journey Davis, God-daughter Jonaishia Freeman, Cousin Betty Jones, Special Friends, Jesse, Willie Jr., Roy Jr. Troy, Roosevelt Jr., Lawrence, John F., James W., James P., Reggie, John S., Cadillac and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and relatives.
