Edward J. Pitko of Burlington Township passed away Friday March 26, 2021 at his residence at the age of 80. Born in Mt. Holly, Ed was a longtime resident of Burlington Twp. He honorably served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his time in the military, Ed was a NJ State Trooper serving in various locations throughout the state. After retiring from the State Police, he worked for the Division of Gaming Enforcement in Atlantic City. In his spare time Ed was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed collecting antiques and fishing lures. He enjoyed taking road trips to Key West with his wife Wanda. He also enjoyed spending summers in Beach Haven on Long Beach Island, often spending time relaxing on the deck with a good cigar. Ed also enjoyed watching basketball, especially the 76ers. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Pitko, his brother Joseph “Chubby” Pitko and his beloved wife Wanda. He is survived by his daughters and son in law: Megan Pitko and Heather and Jeff Melton, his grandsons Liam, Conor and Hayden and his beloved dog Paco. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Page Funeral Home, Burlington.
