John P. Labanosky, Jr. of Burlington Township, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 84. He was born in Hazelton, PA to the late John P. Labanosky, Sr., and Margaret (Nee: Fink) Labanosky. John was a self-made man and 100% ARMY! He began his military career with the National Guard as a young man; then worked a number of years for the PA Liquor Control Board. The Army called and he completed his career on Active Duty working with the Reserve Units up and down the East Coast on Recruiting and Retention. John had a love of horses from a very young age. He never missed the Clydesdales at every Busch Gardens Park. Over the years he has been an active member of the Elks, Moose Lodge and the Roma Club. He also belonged to the American Legion and NCOA. He was a devoted husband, father and Pop-Pop, who enjoyed his family trips and cruising. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Barbara (Nee: Stockalis) Labanosky and their children: John P. Labanosky, III (Veronica) of PA; Joanne Wardwell (Todd) of PA; Karyn DeVleeschouwer (James) of MI. John leaves behind 7 living grandchildren: Nicholene (Brandon), Jared, Kellen, Gabriella, Lucas, Madelyne, and Conner. He was preceded in death by his grandson John P. Labanosky, IV. A Military Funeral for immediate family will be held on Monday in the NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 223 E. Union Street, Burlington, NJ 08016.
