Kathleen (Whelan) Bowker of Florence Twp passed away on January 18, 2023. Kathleen was born in Burlington, NJ on February 18, 1942. She resided in Florence Township, NJ for the last 45 years. Predeceased by her mother and father, James and Sarah (Bolger) Whelan, husband Charles R. Bowker, siblings Alice Sampson, James Whelan, John Whelan, Joseph Whelan, Mary McCloskey and brothers/sisters-in-law; James Sampson, Phyllis Whelan, Roberta Whelan, and Donald McCloskey. She is survived by her children Robert Bowker (Lisa), Lynn Bowker-Hinton (TJ Hinton), Lisa Rein (Michael), Kathleen Sweeney (John), Salvatore DiMaio (Tanya), Anthony DiMaio (Michele), Daniel DiMaio (Shanna), and Diane Hoyt (Bret), siblings William Whelan (Evelyn), and Arlene Bishop (Ray), 34 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren with 5 due this year, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kathleen grew up in Burlington NJ and graduated from Burlington City High School in 1960. She attended St Paul RC Church all of her life. Kathleen was a prayer warrior and was often seen with rosary beads in hand offering prayers for family, friends, co-workers, and patients. She enjoyed visiting religious sites in the States and went to Fatima, Portugal and Rome, Italy. She also enjoyed visiting historical sites with her husband. She was generous and donated to many charities. Family was very important to Kathleen and she was a stay at home mom until her youngest began school. She then attended and graduated from the practical nursing program at Burlington County Vo-tech and worked at the Masonic Home of NJ as an LPN for over 20 years. Kathleen enjoyed her role as Memom/Meem to her many grandchildren and was thrilled to become a great-grandmother. Kathleen will be heartily missed by her family and all who knew her. A viewing will be held from 6-8pm Thursday January 26th and from 9:30-10:30am Friday January 27th at the Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union St., Burlington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Friday in St. Paul R.C. Church, 223 E. Union St., Burlington. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Jacksonville Rd., Burlington.
