Kathleen "Lolly" Pennisi Obituary

Kathleen (Lolly) Ellen Pennisi quietly passed from this life as the warrior she has always been on January 15, 2023. She was 83 years old.

No words can do her justice. A U.S. Army veteran, Lolly graduated from community college with a nursing degree and became a registered nurse. After overcoming a horrific motor vehicle accident and despite the challenges of a permanent disability, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing then Master of Business Administration from Rutgers University while working full-time and raising four children with her late husband, Vito Pennisi. Her passion was being a bedside nurse caring for patients for 40 years. Girl scout leader, school nurse, and health education teacher are just a few of the other titles she proudly held along the way. A force to be reckoned with, Lolly taught her children and grandchildren love, compassion, kindness, independence, loyalty and the importance of hard work, humility and, above all, family. She is loved immensely and will forever be with us. Rest Dear Mom, it has been a long, tough road.

Lolly’s legacy will be carried on by her four children, Matthew (Tracey) Pennisi, Maria (Brian) Pennisi, Monica (Marc) Marsico, and Melanie Pennisi, and her grandchildren, Nicholas Lyle, Luke Pennisi, Siena and Savanna Marsico, Cole Kleindienst, and Christian Pennisi. She is also survived by her sister Carol (Mike) Kovacs and many loving nieces and nephews.

A Mass will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Church, 223 E. Union St., Burlington, NJ followed by a Celebration of Lolly’s incredible Life at The Dime Art Studio located at 351 High St., Suite 200 (2nd Floor), Burlington, NJ. Parking is in the rear. All are welcome. Please bring a memory to share. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, 23 Vreeland Rd. #105, Florham Park, NJ 07932. Messages of sympathy may be emailed to the family from www.pagefuneralhome.com.
