Marilyn Tum Suden Obituary

Marilyn Joan Tum Suden, 92, passed into the loving arms of her Savior on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Masonic Village of Burlington, NJ.

Marilyn was born in Camden, NJ on November 28, 1931, to Stanley and Nancy (Eckel) Deininger. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden, NJ in 1949. She was employed as a secretary at Allen, Lane, and Scott Publishing in Philadelphia until her marriage to Walter Tum Suden, Jr.

Marilyn and Walter were married on October 8, 1955, at St. Georges Wesleyan Methodist Church in Camden. Marilyn and Walter later moved to Willingboro, NJ (known as Levittown at that time) and started a family. Two sons, Keith and Gary were born into the family in 1956 and 1964, respectively.

Marilyn was a loving wife and devoted to her family, raising her sons, caring for her parents and in-laws, and nurturing her five grandchildren. She loved playing games with her grandchildren, making crafts, enjoying meals with them, picking them up at the bus stop, and taking them to fun places like Sunnyside Farms. Visits to “Mom-Mom’s & Pop-Pop’s” were always extra special and memorable. She enjoyed doing cross stitch, embroidery, latch-hook, gardening, birdwatching, growing flowers as well as reading - especially the Bible. She also appreciated music and even took organ lessons at Wurlitzer Organs in Moorestown Mall. Family trips were often to Lancaster, PA, where she loved the environment, food and the German/Dutch culture which was part of her heritage. She also visited other steam train destinations that she enjoyed with Walt and her family.

Marilyn was a prayer-warrior for her entire family having grown up with faith in Jesus Christ since she was a young child. She was active in her church in her youth and sought to follow Christ with her family. She attended First Baptist Church of Willingboro since 1969.

She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Nancy Deininger as well as her brother Stanley Deininger, Jr. and is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Walter, and sons Keith (Roberta) and Gary (Jane). Her pride and joy in her later years were her five grandchildren: Kristine Nelson, Keith Tum Suden, Jr. (Kayla), Sarah Stringfellow (Brendan), Philip Tum Suden, and Daniel Tum Suden. She also leaves behind nine loving great grandchildren: Caleb, Isabella, Alexandria, Aubree, Gabriel and Everly Tum Suden, Brady and Aiden Nelson, and Levi Stringfellow.
